Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Scout8. They apply to the Scout8 mobile app, the Scout8 web app, and the scout8.io website — all referred to here as "Scout8" or "the service".

Scout8 is operated by Dor Barabi as a solo operation, based in Israel. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use Scout8.

How we handle your data is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

What Scout8 is

Scout8 is a two-sided hiring app. Job seekers swipe on job posts, businesses swipe on candidates, and when both sides swipe right you get a match — which opens up messaging and interview booking.

Scout8 is a venue for introductions, and nothing more. We are not an employer, a staffing agency, or a party to any employment relationship that comes out of a match. We don't verify the accuracy of profiles, CVs, job posts, salaries, or business identities, and we don't vouch for anyone you meet through the app. Decisions about who to hire, where to work, and what to agree to are yours.

Who can use it

  • Minimum age. You must be at least 16 to use Scout8. Some jobs carry a higher legal minimum age; meeting it is between you and the business.
  • One account. One account per person. Don't share your login, and don't let someone else use your account.
  • Acting for a business. If you create a business account, you confirm you're authorized to act for that business, and you accept these terms on its behalf as well as your own.
  • Accurate info. What you put in your profile or job posts has to be true. Made-up experience, fake businesses, and jobs that don't exist are grounds for removal.

Your content

Your CV, profile, photos, job posts, and messages stay yours. We don't claim ownership of them.

To actually run the service, you give us permission to store, process, and display that content for the purpose of operating Scout8 — showing your profile to businesses you might match with, showing job posts to seekers, generating the embeddings our matching uses, and delivering your messages. That permission is limited to running the product: we don't sell your content, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't license it out for anyone else's AI training.

When you delete your content or your account, the permission ends and we remove the data on the timeline described in the Privacy Policy. Copies already delivered to a match — a message they received, a CV they downloaded — are outside our control and can't be recalled.

What you agree not to do

  • Impersonate someone else, or post a profile or business that isn't real.
  • Post discriminatory job requirements, or use the app to discriminate against candidates on grounds protected by law.
  • Harass, threaten, or send unwanted sexual content to anyone.
  • Use Scout8 to sell something, recruit for anything other than a real job, run a scam, or ask candidates for money.
  • Ask anyone for payment details, ID documents, or bank information through the app.
  • Scrape, bulk-export, or resell profiles, job posts, or any other data from the service.
  • Reverse engineer the app, attack our infrastructure, or try to reach data that isn't yours.
  • Use automated tools to swipe, message, or create accounts.

Matching is automated

The order you see jobs and candidates in is generated automatically, using an AI service to compare profiles against job posts along with signals like distance, salary range, and past swipes. It's a ranking, not a judgment about anyone. We don't promise it's accurate, complete, or fair to every profile, we don't guarantee you'll be shown to any particular business, and we change how it works regularly. No hire, interview, or match is guaranteed.

Reports, blocks, and moderation

You can block another user or report them from inside the app. Blocking removes you from each other's decks and stops messages between you.

We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms — with notice where we reasonably can, and without it where the situation calls for acting immediately. We don't promise to review everything posted, or to catch every problem before you see it.

Price

Scout8 is currently free for both seekers and businesses. There are no subscriptions, and we don't take a cut of any placement. If we introduce paid features later, we'll say so clearly before you're charged for anything, and existing free features will stay free through any transition period we announce.

Promotions

We sometimes run giveaways or referral campaigns. Those have their own official rules, which govern eligibility, prizes, and how winners are picked, and which control over these terms wherever the two differ. The current campaign rules are at /lottery-terms.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may stop offering the service — or any part of it — with reasonable notice. The sections on your content, disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive your account being closed.

No warranty, and the limits of our liability

Scout8 is provided "as is". We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will get you a job or a hire. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We aren't responsible for what other users do — on the app or off it. That includes what a business tells you about a job, what a candidate tells you about their experience, what happens at an interview, and any agreement you reach after meeting through Scout8. Use the same judgment you would with any stranger: meet somewhere public, and don't send money or documents to someone you haven't verified.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost income, lost opportunities, or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Israeli law — including for death, personal injury, fraud, or willful misconduct.

Apple App Store

If you got the app from the App Store: this agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you're not in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and aren't on a U.S. prohibited-party list.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll notify you in the app. Continuing to use Scout8 after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, delete your account.
